RE-IMPLEMEMTATION OF LEVY EXEMPTION/IMPORT DUTY EXEMPTION APPROVALS.
The previous procedures of Levy exemption and Import Duty Exemption are re-implemented again. This means that for all shipments, a valid Levy Exemption and an Import Duty Exemption are once again required. Otherwise, shipments at all Iraqi entry points/ports can only be cleared by paying these taxes. (Levy Exemption 5%, Import Duty 3, 35%)

IMPORT LICENSE FOR THE STATE ORGANIZATIONS AND GOVERNMENTAL SECTORS.
As from 1^st of October 2012, all shipments destined to the State organizations and Governmental sectors must have a valid Import License. Shipments which already entered the country and documents already in the Customs Authorities possession can be cleared without the Import License. Any other shipments require a valid Import License.

As we informed earlier, all imports to the private sector require a valid Import License.
