We informed in our newsletter of October 2016, that all shipments and all trucks carrying shipments coming through the KRG Region with final destinations to Central or/and Southern Iraq are obliged to stop at Al-Safra Customs checkpoint to be controlled and checked before they are escorted by customs convoys to Abu Ghuraib Customs facilities where final customs duties are finalized, fixed and eventual extra customs duties are fully settled before trucks are released to their final destinations.
From last week of October 2016 Al-Safra Customs checkpoint is officially declared and upgraded to an official working Customs facility for all shipments coming through the KRG Region with final destinations to Central or/and Southern Iraq.
When all customs procedures and customs duties are finalized and fixed trucks can proceed to their final destinations for offloading.
